Lie on your front with your foot in a flat position over the end of the bed.
Your assistant will need to measure and cut two pieces of kinesiology tape from the underside of your heel to the middle of your calf muscle.
Trim off all the corners of the kinesiology tape to form curved edges.
Fold the first piece of kinesiology tape approximately one inch or 2.5cm from the end and rip the backing paper along the crease as demonstrated.
Apply the end of the kinesiology tape under no tension starting under your heel.
Apply the desired amount of stretch to the kinesiology tape and fixate this towards the back of your knee travelling vertically.
Smooth the tape to ensure a good adhesion around your Achilles tendon.
Next, cut a slit halfway along the length of the second piece of kinesiology tape to form one body and two legs.
Trim off all the corners of the kinesiology tape to form curved edges.
Fold the second piece of tape along the base of the legs and rip the backing paper along the crease as demonstrated.
Apply the end of the kinesiology tape under no tension starting under your heel.
Apply the desired amount of stretch to the kinesiology tape and fixate this towards the back of your knee travelling vertically.
Apply the other leg along the outside of your calf muscle under the desired amount of stretch.
Apply one of the legs along the inside of your calf muscle under the desired amount of stretch.
Rub the kinesiology tape to ensure a good adhesion is achieved.
This technique will provide your Achilles tendon with support.
