This technique will aim to reduce the load on your knee cap.
You will need 5cm zinc oxide and 5cm fixation tape for this technique.
Sit upright with your legs extended and a roll behind your affected knee.
Ensure you relax your thigh muscle throughout this technique.
Measure two pieces of fixation tape from the inside to the outside of your shin bone.
Apply the first piece of fixation tape under your knee cap and apply tension towards you.
Apply the second piece of tape overlapping the first by 50% also under tension towards you.
Measure a third piece of fixation tape from the inside to the outside of the top of the knee cap.
Apply this tape also under tension towards you.
Next, repeat this entire process using 5cm zinc oxide tape.
To complete the technique apply a strip of fixation tape above your knee cap and around your thigh, under no tension.
Use a final piece of fixation tape to close off the original anchor.
Stand up to test the tape before making any necessary adjustments.
