Lie on your back.
Move your arm out to the side to about 80 degrees.
Put a towel under your upper arm near the elbow so that your elbow is level with or slightly higher than your shoulder.
Bend your elbow so your forearm and hand point toward the ceiling.
Relax your shoulder muscles and allow your shoulder to rotate by letting your hand and forearm move backward.
Return your forearm to the starting position and repeat.
